We have been so pleased by Grandma Johnson's adjustment to her new surroundings at Sherwood Nursing and Rehab. She often says that, if she can't be at home - and she recognizes that she cannot, then there is no place on Earth better for her to be! We had thought that she would enjoy the social aspects of living in a community such as this and she does. She gets the most enjoyment out of the daily Bingo games! We were late in leaving El Dorado yesterday and knew we were cutting it close to get there before the first number was called at 3:00 P.M. We arrived with fifteen minutes to spare and rushed to her room - no Grandma. Tommy knew where the game would be held so that's where we went next. She was already at the table and had her FREE SPOT covered with a marker! The winner of each game is given a nickel as a prize and earlier this month she paid for her haircut with a pile of nickels!!! (Her hair didn't look quite as professionally done yesterday as it did last time when I neglected to take my camera into the facility.)
Just as we walked in the door, Jill called to check in from Honolulu! The Fussells sound as if they are having a wonderful time, no excuse not to! Being in Hawaii with the Jurkens/Davis clan has to be the perfect vacation!!!
Tonight the 10-Year-Old All Stars begin their tournament. We are so happy that is it to be held in El Dorado at the Boys Club fields! Good luck, Kiddos!
